Mountain Fuel have teamed up with High Terrain Events who are based in the Lake District and organise Trail Runs, Open Water Swims, Triathlons, Iron Mans and Duathlons.
Their events cover a multitude of outdoor activities over all terrain, amidst some of the most spectacular scenery Britain has to offer. They appeal not only to seasoned athletes who relish a challenge, but to anyone who loves the outdoors, at any level of fitness or ability.
We chose High Terrain Events as our first event partner as they have a very similar ethos to ourselves in that they let their events do the talking, as we do with Mountain Fuel. We also love their locations and the friendly nature of the events and not only support them with prizes and feed station fuel but we also compete and chat amongst the competitors as we believe you have to practice what you preach. If you haven’t already entered have a look at the upcoming events and we’ll maybe see you there 🙂
Upcoming events include;
Swim Buttermere Lake, cycle up the challenging gradients of Whinlatter and Honister passes, run the trails around the beautiful shores of Crummock Water. This triathlon is possibly the most scenic in Britain, set amidst the stunning backdrop of the Lake District mountains in the iconic location of Buttermere.

Scafell Pike – Helvellyn – Skiddaw
Part of the UK Skyrunning series
Following the huge success of the inaugural event in 2014 the Lake District 3 X 3000 80k Ultra Trail is set to be a classic ultra. The course has been designed by 2013 IAU World Trail Running Champion and Salomon International Mountain Runner Ricky Lightfoot.
Based on the classic Lakes 3000’s but eliminating the long road sections this will be an 80k off road route incorporating Scafell Pike, Helvellyn and Skiddaw, starting and finishing in Keswick.
From the boulder fields of Scafell Pike to the smooth grassy ridge running of the Dodds, the route combines all the elements of a classic Lakeland run combined with aspects of european style ultra running.
