Mountain Fuel are supporting Pure Outdoor Events who offer a selection of events designed by runners for runners! They have an emphasis on challenging, but fun, great days out in the great outdoors of the Cumbrian hills.

The Cumbria Way Ultra

The Cumbria Way Ultra is a 73 mile trail ultra race which passes through the varied terrain of the beautiful Lake District, giving over 10,000 feet of ascent.  The route follows the iconic trail which was first devised in the 1970s by local members of the Ramblers. The Cumbria Way Ultra provides a relatively low-level crossing of the Lake District National Park, following tracks and paths along valleys and over passes in the midst of stunning and varied scenery.

This year it takes place on Saturday 17th/Sunday 18th September 2016.

The Cumbria Way Ultra 2016 will give Solo runners 3 old or 5 new points for the 2017 Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®. The qualifying races give points for every race of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®, not just for the UTMB®.

The Grand Tour of Skiddaw

A 44 mile trail ultra race that took place in the beautiful Northern Lake District on Saturday 3rd September 2016.

With a half-way climb up the mighty Skiddaw, the race provided a total of 7136 feet of ascent. The route was almost entirely run on public footpaths and bridleways, starting and finishing at Lime House School near Dalston.
