I am a trail and ultra runner and outdoors journalist from Sheffield, UK. Running is my perfect excuse to travel and explore. In preparation for my first ultra marathon I solo hiked through the Alps, camping along the way. I had a lot to learn, and I’ve gone on from there to develop my confidence and the skills to travel light.
Running in the mountains combines everything I love, long days out, exploration, and steep rocky places. I’ve fast-packed the Tour du Mont Blanc, running 108 miles with 10,000m of ascent, carrying all my camping and cooking gear. As well as planning independent challenges, I enter races. I’m most proud of completing the Welsh 3000’s (V3K), running all the highest peaks in a day.
I’m always learning. I love discovering new places and developing new skills. Trail running has helped me learn about myself, what it takes mentally and physically to complete a challenge. Mountain Fuel has made it easier for me to understand what my body needs before, during, and after my runs, and I’m excited to find out where my running will take me!
For work, I’m an outdoors journalist and adventure film producer, I want to motivate others to get active outdoors. When I’m not outside I’m most likely to be writing, reading or watching films about adventure, getting inspired for my next trip!
