I came into running after University. Needing a new obsession, I quickly adopted the sport of fell and trail running into my weekend’s plans. Seven years on the obsession still remains and many happy memories along with it.
Some of the top achievements include representing Lancashire for the fells, England at various mountain running competitions and Great Britain in the Long Distance Mountain Running Championships at the Giir Di Mont race in Premana, Italy. Personal racing highlights include 3rd at the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 2:54:47 and coming in 2nd at the International Snowdon Mountain Race.
The thrill of the race always comes in seeing how long I can last running at a high pace over runnable, hilly terrains – which forms the base of many of my training runs often being long tempo sessions. Nothing beats seeing how fast you can run up and back down a mountain though!
