July has been an incredible month for our record breaking endurance customers and we don’t want it to end… so we’ve extended the SAVE10JULY discount code until midnight Sunday – SHOP NOW

Well what another action-packed weekend that was!

With big records continuing to fall all over the UK, here is our latest update on all our Mountain Fuel customers news.

Stealing the headlines this week is one of the country’s most prolific female ultra runners, Beth Pascall. The talented Salomon athlete decided to have a crack at The Bob Graham Round, arguably the most famous long distance challenge in the UK.  We had an in depth chat with Beth covering where she started, favorite races, the record round, training and fuelling: WATCH NOW

The aim was to break the women’s record of 15:24, which has stood for 4 years and was set by Jasmin Paris in 2016. Understandably it was always going to be a big ask to try and surpass this outstanding benchmark.

However, this only makes Beth’s achievement even more impressive, as she not only smashed the women’s record, posting a jaw-droppingly fast time of 14:34, but also became the 4thfastest person on the official BG club list to ever complete the round. A truly incredible and inspirational feat, especially considering that conditions were less than perfect and pretty wet underfoot. Beth fuelled the round on pretty much a liquid diet that included Raw Energy Fuel and also our new concept natural energy gels which are coming soon!

Huge congratulations Beth!

Also hitting the headlines was Mountain Fueller, Paul Wilson, who completed the Lakes 2500 challenge last Sunday morning.

Paul belted round the Lake District fells, covering a staggering 118 miles and climbing an incredible 46,000ft of ascent in the process. Earning the ultimate respect from his peers, Paul became only the second person in history to complete this phenomenal achievement in sub 48 hours. We’d like to congratulate Paul and hope he might treat himself to a rest day this week as he celebrates his magnificent accomplishment. For info, Paul used the cola Sports Jelly on the round as the added natural caffeine came in particularly handy in the latter stages of the challenge.

Meanwhile, Chris Taylor and Stu Ashley, hit some big hills of their own, as they completed the Everest Cycling Challenge.

The challenge is described as ‘Fiendishly simple, yet brutally hard’,and it didn’t disappoint! The rules are you have to choose a climb/segment and then repeat it until you have climbed the height of Everest.  Not for the faint hearted, Chris and Stu climbed the height of Everest, a whopping 8,848m.

Each of them rode different hills with Chris racking up 220km in distance and Stu an incredible 340km. Chris utilised the complete system for his Everest while Stu combined the FeelGoodBars and Recovery Fuels throughout his epic ride.

They were both riding for their respective charities:

But it doesn’t end there, in a few week’s time another of our Mountain Fuelled adventurers, Alex Staniforth is attempting to set a new record on his The National 3 Peaks Challenge – climbing the 3 highest peaks in the UK – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – and running the entire distance between them. This is approximately 440 miles in under 9 days, which will be the fastest known time if successful. I will be starting on Ben Nevis and finishing on Snowdon without a dedicated support vehicle.

Alex is attempting to raise £10,000 for Mind Over Mountains, a charity (pending registration) to restore well-being through life-changing outdoor experiences. Re-connecting with nature and the outdoors has never been more important.

His page is www.givey.com/3peaksrun with more details.
