I’m Julie Briscoe from Barnsley, Yorkshire; I began my running career at secondary school running the dreaded cross country races that no-one else wanted to do. I run for Wakefield harriers, plus second claim at Dark Peak fell runners.
Over time I have realised the importance of good nutrition, eating proper homemade food as much as possible. I have also grown to realise a little help is needed to fill in the gaps; this is why I now compliment my nutrition by using Mountain fuel. Especially after a long hard race, the chocolate recovery fuel definitely hits the spot for me.
Whether it’s lining up in a big city marathon rubbing shoulders with the world’s best road runners, battling through the mud at the National cross country or running up some of the biggest hills and mountains.
What I love about mountain/ fell running is how natural and unassuming it is, no matter what level the athlete is, there’s no elitist, no pressures of split times. It’s a humble sport.
