Katie Walshaw – Fell Runner

Katie Walshaw (1) - MF athlete

I initially began running when I was seven years old, I was spotted by a coach from Holmfirth Harriers and joined them. I started running and competing in fell races at 18 and from there it’s been an amazing journey, I absolutely love the buzz running over the mountains and mud and bog! I’ve had an amazing career so far on the mountains, being fortunate enough to run for GB seven times in the Europeans and Worlds which is something I’m very proud of. I’m a big fan of the family atmosphere you get from the people in the fell running groups, with everyone being extremely welcoming. I’m loving my new club Ribble Valley Harriers, especially the the team events, onwards and upwards too the future and my various paths I will take on the fells!
