I actually started running when I was 16 years old. I took to my first 10km multi terrain race and loved it, since then I have had the pleasure to go on and represent my country Wales at junior and senior level. I have been driven by a passion of adventure and the need to explore what the world has to offer, with this I have now competed in over 20 different countries around the world and have raced most distances from 5km to 100+ mile ultra marathons.
I regularly compete in mountain, trail, road and cross country events around the world, ticking off my bucket list of races along the way. Most recently has seen me complete the Ultra Trail Du Mont Blanc (UTMB), Singapore 50, TNF100 Australia and the Canadian Death Race. One thing I have learnt along the way is that fuelling right is a huge part of succeeding which is why the Mountain Fuel system works so well for me.
Apart from running I am also a keen hiker and road biker. Having cycled many sportives around the UK and hiked the likes of Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Ridge & Chola Pass last year.
Nutrition strategies are an ever evolving thing and with Mountain Fuel I am learning more each time I use the products. A big plus for any endurance athlete is to have confidence in your supplement, whatever the conditions of a race and being able to start knowing I have a system that doesn’t upset my stomach like many other gel based nutrition companies gives me a huge boost. I am particularly a fan of the Xtreme Tropical Fuel what makes up a light tasting energy drink to use on the go!
