  • Distance: 75K / 47 miles

  • Elevation: 2,600m / 8,530 feet

  • Surface: 95% trail/path, 5% road

  • Direction Options: Clockwise (spring bluebells) or Anticlockwise (lake on left)

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum age: 16 years on race day

  • No race-day registration: Registration is Friday only, 7–11 PM

  • Must register yourself in-person, with photo ID

  • Bring race vest/pack for GPS tracker attachment

Parking

  • Free parking beside HQ (grass field)

  • No camping/sleeping in cars

  • No motorhomes larger than VW California or Transit Custom

  • Drive carefully (grass field, possible soft patches)

Accommodation

  • Camping and holiday cottages available at Graythwaite Estate

  • Nearby villages: Far Sawrey, Hawkshead, Lakeside, Newby Bridge

Important Rules

  • Full mandatory kit list must be carried at all times (random checks)

  • No pacers allowed

  • No dogs allowed on course

  • Outside assistance (food/water) not permitted

  • Spectators cannot enter feed stations

  • No transfer of entries or deferrals

  • Trackers must be returned after the race (or £350 charge!)

Food

  • Huge selection at feed stations

  • Mountain Fuel products available but placement may vary

  • Halfway aid station has hot food

  • Finishers meal included

Cut-Off Times

  • 24-hour time limit

  • Specific cutoffs apply after halfway station (details vary by route direction)

Route Marking

  • 2,500+ route arrows

  • Best way-marked ultra in the UK (no nav skills needed but helpful for future ultras)

Weather

  • Expect anything: rain, hail, snow, or heat!

  • Prepare properly for all conditions (hypothermia = your own bad decisions)

Finish Line

  • Hot food and drinks available at the finish.

  • Opportunity to cool down with a dip in Lake Windermere (at your own risk!).

  • England’s largest “bath” (Lake Windermere!) nearby for post-race cooling.

  • Actual showers also available if you prefer.

  • Camping available Saturday night — highly recommended if you have a long journey home to avoid driving tired.
