Chia seeds provide athletes with a healthy fuel for stamina and endurance, as well as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Coconut sugar and fruit juice deliver multi-transportable carbohydrates, maximizing energy provision. And the natural electrolytes sodium, magnesium, calcium and potassium are delivered through sea salt. Cinnamon improves glucose sensitivity and also helps combat exercise induced oxidative stress. This powerful combination of ingredients ensures you have a reliable and dependable energy source to fuel your activities, whatever the intensity.

    Game Changer

I’ve now found a race nutrition that is effective and kind to my stomach. I suffer from IBS and triathlon and race nutrition has always been an issue which has made racing uncomfortable and embarrassing!!

I am so so happy and chuffed that Mountain Fuel ticks all the boxes. I use the Chia gels, sports jellies, raw energy powder and I love the flapjacks! Not only is it kind on my stomach, I feel well fuelled as well as feeling like I am working with body by putting good stuff in to it.

I’ve also found after an event and training I’m not left with a sick feeling in my stomach that I have had previously.

Highly recommend to anyone, but especially anyone dealing with IBS issues, it really is a game changer.. I’ve suffered from IBS since I was 16.. now 46!! At last a fuel that works. I use a lot of these, as training for an IR distance, which means a lot of training hours and gels.. !

Thank you team Mountain Fuel!! 😊

My first choice now for long days out. I’ll take the chia gels for regular energy and when feeling early onset of hunger. Used them throughout training runs and on the day at the Lakeland 50. No flavour fatigue (raspberry is a firm favourite), no gastric issues. Consistency is just right and kept me fuelled for hours.

I wish I had found these sooner, they’re absolute game changers. The flavours are good, the consistency is much easier to swallow than regular gels and I felt a definite energy boost that really kept me going on a long run.

    Ultra Chia and jelly Magic

I’m an average runner and I struggle to eat on runs. The great zingy tasting chia gels and sports jellies helped to give me the power to run the Brathay 10 marathons in 10 days in May 2022. My times were consistent with only 12 minutes between my slowest and fastest and I set a new FV55 record. During my training using these gels I set a new marathon pb. No sickly taste, indigestion or upset stomach, just great tasting energy 😊

Are gels meant to taste so yummy?

    Emma Catlow (verified owner)

I love the apple and cinnemon Chia gel … perhaps a little too much.
These are the only products that 1. don’t make me feel ill when I am out training or racing for a long period and 2. they genuinely taste yummy – the apple cinnamon chia gel is like having a sweet apple pie, a real treat!

Raspberry chia is my go to gel for mountain biking, they’re by far the best gels I’ve used with no side affects to my gut.

    Tangy

    geoff proctor (verified owner)

I’ve tried all sorts of foods whilst running and my body just hates digesting solids on the move. I’ve tried some of the competition’s gels but they don’t seem to sit well in my stomach and beyond ! Recently, when i was struggling to get anything solid down on a big run (even the feel good bars), the apple and cinnamon chia gels gave me that tangy wow and provided me with some much needed energy. Along with the blackcurrent drink, they definately helped me through to the end.

    Sustained energy

    Jonny Cox

Have had some promising results whilst taking these in on the earlier stages of longer races, the energy release is more sustaining and keeps me chugging along through to the end. The Chia Jellies can work really well in these early stages to set yourself up for a consistently paced performance right the way through the end.

I don’t get on with normal gels. So I tried these and haven’t looked back. Nice and tangy not too sweet. You can eat these all day and doesn’t mess with your stomach.

Easy on the stomach but not a favourite.

    Gareth Jones (verified owner)

Having got on well with Sports Jelly gels and being impressed with the lack of ‘feeling yucky’ after any long distance runs, I thought to try these Ultra Chia Gels. Once again, no issues after my run but I just found both of the flavours hard to get down. May just be me but I will stick with the Sports Jelly ones in future.

Finally found a gel that doesn’t make me sick!

    Stella Blackburn (verified owner)

After trying a vast majority of gels on the market and completing 3 marathons where nausea and vomiting were part of the course, I tried the Sports Jelly+ as it has more carbs than a normal gel. The taste is great- not strong or sweet so no taste exhaustion… they do not affect my stomach at all yet you can feel the energy boost. The big test was on a recent marathon. Not only was I not sick at all but I also knocked over 20 minutes off my previous time 😊😊
amazing! I’ve tried other super gels with extra carbs but they are either too sweet or too thick – the Mountain Fuel ones are just perfect!

  13. Tessa Bailey

    Taste pretty good!

    Tessa Bailey (verified owner)

The raspberry chia gels are surprisingly raspberry-like – very tangy, the chia seeds give a strange but OK texture which is actually a nice change from sticky orange gels that are available elsewhere. The packet is hard to open with tired/cold fingers but since the top doesn’t tear completely off at least you don’t have the little bit to pick up off the floor/extra bits of rubbish. Gels are gels, so I could never rate them 5/5 🙂 but am a novice ultra-runner and seem to have been ok on my long runs so far (up to 19 miles) without feeling I’ve got behind on my fuelling, or having to stop and chew food. Thanks!

Tangy tasty treat to perk you up!

    Neil Dixon (verified owner)

This gel is amazing. I love the tangy taste and it is easy to swallow but fills you up a lot more than a Sports Jelly (or any other kind of gel that I have ever tried). Easy on the stomach, and makes a lovely treat to look forward to partway through my ultra runs. The apple/cinnamon one is just as delicious too 😉
