    Having got on well with Sports Jelly gels and being impressed with the lack of ‘feeling yucky’ after any long distance runs, I thought to try these Ultra Chia Gels. Once again, no issues after my run but I just found both of the flavours hard to get down. May just be me but I will stick with the Sports Jelly ones in future.

    After trying a vast majority of gels on the market and completing 3 marathons where nausea and vomiting were part of the course, I tried the Sports Jelly+ as it has more carbs than a normal gel. The taste is great- not strong or sweet so no taste exhaustion… they do not affect my stomach at all yet you can feel the energy boost. The big test was on a recent marathon. Not only was I not sick at all but I also knocked over 20 minutes off my previous time 😊😊
    amazing! I’ve tried other super gels with extra carbs but they are either too sweet or too thick – the Mountain Fuel ones are just perfect!

    The raspberry chia gels are surprisingly raspberry-like – very tangy, the chia seeds give a strange but OK texture which is actually a nice change from sticky orange gels that are available elsewhere. The packet is hard to open with tired/cold fingers but since the top doesn’t tear completely off at least you don’t have the little bit to pick up off the floor/extra bits of rubbish. Gels are gels, so I could never rate them 5/5 🙂 but am a novice ultra-runner and seem to have been ok on my long runs so far (up to 19 miles) without feeling I’ve got behind on my fuelling, or having to stop and chew food. Thanks!
